NACOGDOCHES- (KTRE) – Taking a different approach for the Jack of the Week featuring a former player but now finds himself leading instead of following fourth year head coach J.C. Harper. Found himself in a predicament coming to the oldest town in Texas; you see Harper played college football at Clemson who wears orange. SFA arch rival Sam Houston State they dawn orange so something had to give.
"Marcie never quite understood she just kind of jumped into the coach's wife thing recently the last seven years. Colors were not accepted and orange is not accepted and it just wasn't she even painted the walls I think an orange color and that had to go," Coach J.C. Harper said.
Harper's wife didn't understand that superstitious things carry weight and the color of the opposing team even though J.C. Alma mater is orange.
Came in I was going to try and hang up one of his jersey's in his office and he said you can't hang that up in here because its orange and i said but honey you played for Clemson it doesn't matter Sam Houston is orange now," Marcie Harper said.
Coach Harper bleeds purple and his number one priority is beating Sam Houston State this Saturday for the second straight win over the bearkats winning last year 42-3. Kickoff at Reliant Stadium is at 2pm Coach J.C. Harper is your Jack of the Week.
