LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin man has accepted a 30-day jail sentence, in addition to six years probation in connection to an attempted burglary in September.

According to a previous report, a woman caught Michael Jerome Teel, 22, trying to get into her residence in the 100 block of Westmoreland Street.

When officers arrived, they saw Teel nearby. When Teel saw them, he ran across Raguet Street and into a multi-resident building located at the intersection of North Raguet Street and Henderson Street, Smith said.

Several officers surrounded the building to make sure Teel did not escape, then went into the building and arrested Teel.

Teel pleaded guilty Monday to attempted burglary and drug possession with intent to deliver.
