NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches County Sheriff's deputy said he caught a man stealing metal from a school bus used for storage on a pasture on FM 1087.

According to Sheriff Kerss, the property owner reported a suspicious vehicle on his property Friday morning, about 10:45 a.m. When a deputy arrived, he said he caught the suspect, Marvis Liebel, 34, of Mt. Enterprise crawling out of the window of the bus.

Kerss said the property owner said he had noticed metal in the bus had been missing from the night before, but had not reported it stolen.

Kerss said Liebel had been stealing metal from items inside the bus and selling it.

Liebel was arrested and charged with theft of metal, a state jail felony.
