Rivalry win moves SFA up one spot in national polls

 PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team recorded a three-point victory over Sam Houston State in the annual Battle of the Piney Woods which propelled them to No. 3 in the FCS Coaches' Top 25 poll, and fourth in Sports Network Top 25 poll.
 
The Lumberjacks received 612 points and one first-place vote in the FCS Coaches' Poll. No. 1 Appalachian State received 674 points. SFA recorded one first-place vote and received 3,338 points in the Sports Network poll.
 
The Lumberjacks will put their national ranking, nine-game home win streak and six-game current win streak on the line Saturday when they host Texas State. The homecoming game will kick off at 2 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
