EAST TEXAS (KTRE) – Tired of the warm and humid weather conditions of late? Thursday morning's cooler temperatures are bound to put a smile on your face.
"You can expect mostly sunny skies Thursday with a noticeable drop in temperatures. The high will only reach near 78, accompanied by a breezy north wind at 10 to 15 mph throughout the day," according to KTRE Chief Meteorologist Brad Hlozek.
A strong cold front which moved through East Texas overnight brought with it the cooler temperatures which are expected to stay with us for the rest of the week.
"Along the front, a stray shower or storm may develop, but rain chances will be slim to none as there is not much moisture for the front to work with," Hlozek said.
With a breezy north wind and low relative humidity on Thursday, the fire danger will be high across East Texas. As a result, a Red Flag Warning has already been issued for Houston, Polk, and Trinity counties.
The weather behind the front will be comprised of clear skies and chilly nights, along with full sunshine and pleasant afternoons.
"This stretch of beautiful weather will last into the weekend, before a south wind brings back a few more clouds by early next week," Hlozek said.
Temperatures across East Texas could get as low as 38 degrees by Friday night.
