Cooler temperatures will stick around East Texas for a few days

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) – Friday ushered in very chilly temperatures to start the day with lots of cities in our viewing area dropping into the upper 30ies overnight.  "Expect a beautiful sunny day with highs in the upper 60's to lowers 70's," according to KTRE Chief Meteorologist Brad Hlozek.

Football fans headed out to the games tonight will want to grab a jacket.  "We'll see another chilly night tonight with patchy frost possible and overnight temperatures dropping into the 30's," Hlozek said.

The weekend looks great with  a gradual warm up.  Highs will reach near 80 by Halloween.  "Another cold front will move in next week cooling us back down but right now rain chances look pretty small," Hlozek said.

Saturday expect sunny and nice temperatures with a high near 75 and an overnight low in the middle 30's.

And a reminder that burn bans are still in effect for Angelina, Houston, Jasper, Newton, Polk, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Trinity and Tyler counties until further notice.
