LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - An Angelina County grand jury returned a no-bill on a Lufkin woman accused of abusing a child at the school in which she worked as a teacher's aide.

Debra Martin Fuqua, 54, was arrested in May after an investigation in which a witness claimed she saw Fuqua strike the child.

Fuqua worked at a Lufkin elementary school as a teacher's aide. The school terminated her following its own investigation.

The no-bill means the grand jury did not find enough evidence to indict Fuqua of the crime, clearing her of the charge.
