UNDATED (KTRE) – Kids over the age of 12 in Belleville, Illinois could face a fine or even jail time if they're caught going door to door this Halloween.
For some people, that's taking the "How old is too old to Trick-or-Treat?" debate too far. Some people believe you're never too old because trick-or-treating is not just for kids, as long as the older person is treating the tradition with respect by dressing in full costume (not just makeup) , have an official Halloween bag (not just grocery sack) to get candy, and not running over the younger children in a rush to get candy.
Trick-or-treaters age "11, 12, 13 tops," is the limit for Judy Skidmore. "It does make me nervous I think and that's usually when I start turning off my porch light when they start coming by."
Richard Taylor believes you're never too old to trick-or-treat. "I really think it's appropriate for anyone to do trick-or-treating. It's fun and happy. I believe trick-or-treating is good for everybody."
"It's something I did as a little boy, it's something that's inside of me, it's tradition I love it, it makes me happy." In fact, Taylor already has his costume for this year picked out. "I got this gangster costume that I'm going to wear."
