EAST TEXAS (KTRE) – Keep the umbrella handy because there's a 30% chance of rain and possible thunderstorms this afternoon.
"A cold front is moving towards the KTRE-TV viewing area and will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms," according to Chief Meteorologist Brad Hlozek. "Once the front passes later today, cooler air will move into the area, however, our rain chances will continue."
Highs Monday will reach the lower 80's with overnight lows near 60. "Tomorrow will be much cooler with highs only in the lower 60's," Hlozek said.
Much cooler weather will move into East Texas towards the end of the week. "Right now we are looking at low temperatures in the middle to upper 30s buy the end of the week however, there is a chance these could be a few degrees cooler providing a first freeze for parts of East Texas."
