CROCKETT, Texas (KTRE) - Authorities have recovered a Crockett Police car which a purse-snatcher drove following a foot chase with an officer Tuesday afternoon.
According to City Administrator Ronald Duncan, the officer was in a foot chase after 1 p.m. with the man after he stole the woman's purse in downtown Crockett. The officer chased him down a narrow path between two buildings and the man came back and got in the police car, Duncan said.
Authorities found the car in some brush near the City of Crockett's Economic and Industrial Corporation, located in southeast Crockett, Duncan said.
Duncan said he did not believe a suspect had been apprehended.
A spokesman with Crockett Police was not immediately available for comment.
