ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Angelina County deputies have made an arrest in connection to a house fire on FM 1475 last week.
According to Sgt. Allen Hill, investigators were called to the house around 7:40 a.m. on Oct. 28 because first responders suspected a methamphetamine cook may have accidentally started the blaze.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Hill arrived at the house and suspected burns on James Edwin Durham, 38, of Lufkin, were consistent with someone having been burned with a liquid.
While Durham was being treated in the hospital, deputies observed components of a meth lab outside the house, the affidavit states.
Deputies served an arrest warrant on Durham on Tuesday on a charge of arson. A bond for his release has not been set.
