Vincent Walls came off the bench to score 19 points, including back-to-back buckets in the third overtime as the Angelina College Roadrunners moved to 3-0 with a 76-73 win on the road at Baton Rouge Community College.
Adrick McKinney and Trent Brantley each hit for double-doubles, with McKinney finishing with 16 points and 14 rebounds and Brantley adding 10 points and 12 boards. Ron Steward and E.J. Williams added 12 points each for the Roadrunners.
AC fell behind by 14 to open the game, battling back to within three points by the end of the first half. With just six minutes to go in regulation, AC held a 14-point lead before exhaustion and cramps kicked in, allowing Baton Rouge to tie the game on a 30-foot jumper with three seconds remaining.
"I probably should have sent them to the free-throw line," AC head coach Todd Neighbors said, "but I told the guys if they got us through this one, I wouldn't make that mistake again. They did a heck of a job gutting it out in those two OTs."
The Roadrunners travel to Midland on Friday to take on the No. 1-ranked Chaparrals.
