AP -- Authorities are searching for three fireworks company employees after a string of explosions devastated half of their warehouse in Kilgore, Texas.
The blasts happened late yesterday and sent fireworks and other debris several blocks away. Local police officials say five homes in the area were damaged or destroyed.
Authorities say thousands of pounds of fireworks inside the warehouse and packed in a nearby tractor-trailer rig exploded. Workers were preparing for a dozen July fourth fireworks shows when the blasts began.
Meanwhile, investigators in Bonita Springs, Florida, are searching the blackened site where a truck full of fireworks blew up on Wednesday killing five people.
The explosion occurred as workers were unloading the truck for the town's Fourth of July celebration.
Only one worker survived. She ran into the nearby water and avoided serious injuries.
