LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Assault/Aggravated                800 Block North Avenue

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 9:00 P.M. that date a known suspect threatened to assault a male victim inside of a residence located in the 800 block of North Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend pointed a handgun at her current boyfriend but fled the area in a vehicle prior to the complainant contacting Lufkin Police Department.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officers were unable to locate the suspect in the area or at addresses that he is known to frequent, and that the incident was referred for further investigation. 

Burglary/Vehicle                                                     1900 Block Tulane Drive

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 4:00 P.M. and 8:30 P.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot near AT&T, located in the 1900 block of Tulane Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the vehicle's doors were locked and he did not know how the actor(s) entered into the vehicle, but that the actor(s) removed from within the vehicle an Apple iPad tablet computer and radio speakers contained in an automotive speaker enclosure.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation                                               1000 Block Roseneath Street

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between on 8:00 A.M. and 7:40 P.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a residence, located in the 1000 block of Roseneath Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging a window of the residence but, at the time of the report, the complainant did not know what, if any, property had been removed from within the residence.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Assault/Aggravated                                                2000 Block Knight Avenue

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 4:00 P.M. that date a known suspect assaulted the complainant inside of a residence located in the 2000 block of Knight Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that during a verbal altercation over the suspect not bonding the complainant out of jail, the suspect bit the complainant several times and used a metal object to cause a laceration to the complainant's finger.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Fraud                                                                            900 Block Traylor Street

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 11:30 A.M. that date an unidentified actor called the complainant and claimed to be a lawyer representing a family member of the complainant who was incarcerated in the Dominican Republic.  According to the report, the complainant, without attempting to contact the family member to verify the callers claim, used Western Union to send a several thousand dollars payment to the Dominican Republic, and then learned that the family member was safely at their Houston-area home.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officer worked with the local Western Union office to recall the transferred money prior to it being retrieved in the Dominican Republic.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation                                               100 Block Norris Street

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between on 8:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a residence, located in the 100 block of Norris Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) entered into the residence by opening a window of the residence and removed from within the residence a Nintendo brand Wii gaming system and game discs, an HP brand laptop computer, a Cannon brand digital camera, a Sony brand digital camera, an Audiovox brand portable DVD player, and a gold necklace with a gold-plated US quarter-dollar pendant.  The report stated that a Lufkin Police Department Crime Scene Technician collected evidence from the scene and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Assault/A                                                                    1600 Block East Denman Avenue

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 9:00 A.M. that date a known suspect assaulted the complainant inside of a residence located in the 1600 block of East Denman Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend slapped and pushed but fled the area prior to the complainant contacting Lufkin Police Department.  The report stated that the responding Lufkin Police Department Officers were unable to locate the suspect in the area or at addresses that he is known to frequent, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Burglary/Habitation                                               800 Block Carroll Street

On Tuesday, November 09, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between on 7:30 A.M. and 8:15 A.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a residence, located in the 800 block of Carroll Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging a window of the residence but, at the time of the report, the complainant did not know what, if any, property had been removed from within the residence.  The report stated that the complainant identified a possible suspect but the responding Lufkin Police Department Officers were unable to locate that person in the area, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

    James Henderson's defense attorney, Stanley Sokolowski, started off the third day of court by questioning the state's witness, Investigator Bill Rulland. The cross examination lasted most of the morning and even a little into the afternoon.     More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
