LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – In Lufkin, more than 300 elementary kids lifted their voices to honor our veterans.
It's the largest Veterans Day Program the Pineywoods Community Academy has held to honor those who have fought for our country.
Organizers hope the program teaches kids what it means to serve.
"If they see these men and women that we had today either in uniform or out of uniform, they can start to realize a little bit more about what it means to be a Veteran and what it means to sacrifice," said Director Bruce Marchand.
Close to 50 veterans were in attendance.
One by one they stood up to be honored for their service.
