Keeping an eye out for drunk drivers was a top priority for East Texas authorities during the holiday weekend. And according to local law enforcement officials, overall, the weekend was as peaceful as they could have asked for.
Lufkin officials say everything was as normal as any other weekend this Fourth of July weekend. They did have their regular flow of calls including sixteen arrests. According to Lieutenant James Nowak, there were seven seatbelt citations, one DWI and one person arrested for public intoxication.
