East Texans go "wild" for chicken wings

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The parking lot at the new Buffalo Wild Wings grill and bar is covered with people camping out in tents in anticipation of the grand opening Monday morning at 11.

The restaurant held a "training event" over the weekend to get ready for opening day.

Some 20-plus tents have been camped out for a couple of days hoping to be chosen as the winner of the free wings for a year (6 wings a week for 52 weeks) promotional campaign.  The first tent went up Saturday morning.

One camper even had a generator set up to watch TV.

One spectator mused "camping out for two days in this drizzly weather for $150 in wings, must be some really good wings."
