Man gets 2 years for Angelina Co. motel fire

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A man accused of setting fire to an Angelina County motel while cooking methamphetamine pleaded guilty Tuesday to the crime.

Gilbert Naylor Sanders, 49, of Newark, accepted a two-year prison sentence.

Sanders and Charles Roy Euper set fire to American Motel in the early morning hours on Jan. 13, 2009.

A test in the room indicated a positive result for methampetamine.

Euper accepted a six-year prison sentence for the arson charge.
