LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A man who attempted to pass a fraudulent check while walking through a Diboll bank drive-thru accepted a probation sentence Tuesday afternoon.
According to a previous report, Marcus Tyrone Bolt, 27, of Houston, and two others allegedly worked together to pass checks through different businesses. Diboll Police arrested Bolt and Christopher Dale Cooper, 39, of Houston, in September after police say they walked through a drive-thru at First Bank & Trust, located at 104 N. Temple Drive, and tried to cash fraudulent checks.
The man police say was their getaway driver, Roderick Johnson, 43, left the scene when police arrived. Authorities tracked him down in October in Refugio.
Bolt will serve a five-year probated sentence and pleaded guilty to engaging in organized criminal activity.
