11/24/10 Lufkin Police report

11-24-10               Burglary/Building                      2100 Block North John Redditt Drive

At approximately 12:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, Lufkin Police Department officers responded to an active burglar alarm at a business located in the 2100 block of North John Redditt Drive.  According to the report, the officers found that an unidentified actor(s) forced entry into the business by damaging a glass entry door and removed from within the business several Miller brand welding machines.  The report stated that the officer collected evidence from the scene and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

11-24-2010          Theft/B                                         300 Block North Timberland Drive

At approximately 12:45 A.M. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that approximately two hours earlier his wallet was stolen from with Wild Willies, located in the 300 block of North Timberland Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he placed his wallet on the bar and walked away from it to look for his spouse but when he returned to the bar his wallet, which he stated contained credit cards, his driver's license, and several hundred dollars in currency, was missing.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

At approximately 10:15 P.M. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that a known suspect assaulted the complainant within their shared residence, located in the 1000 block of Columbus Street.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her husband yelled at her and threw at her a can of beer.  The report stated that the suspect fled the area prior to the complainant contacting Lufkin Police Department and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 4:45 P.M. that date his checkbooks were stolen from Harbor Freight, located in the 3000 block of South John Redditt Drive.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he left two checkbooks in a shopping cart at the business and they were missing when he returned for them.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

11-23-2010          Arrest                                                                   800 Block Keltys Street

At approximately 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, a Lufkin Police Department officer arrested Myrick Jawad Shepard (Black / Male / 27 / Lufkin) for an outstanding felony child support warrant from Bexar County, Texas and for the Class C Misdemeanor offenses of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (No Insurance), and Expired Driver's Licenses.  According to the report, a Lufkin Police Department officer witnessed Myrick Jawad Shepard operating a vehicle at a rate of speed above the posted speed limit on Keltys Street near Glenn Avenue, and the officer made contact with Mr. Shepherd when Mr. Shepard stopped the vehicle in the 800 block of Keltys Street.  The officer learned that Mr. Shepard was wanted in Bexar County, Texas for an outstanding felony child support warrant and took him into custody.  While conducting an inventory of Mr. Shepard's vehicle prior to it being towed for being uninsured, officers located a small amount of marijuana.  Mr. Shepard was booked into Angelina County Jail for that warrant and the offenses of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (No Insurance), and Expired Driver's Licenses.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that an employee of a business located in the 1800 block of South First Street had stolen money from the business.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the business discovered that the suspect, who had worked for the business for approximately two years, had stolen several hundred dollars from the business.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

11-23-2010          Burglary/Vehicle                                             900 Block Johnson Avenue

On Tuesday, November 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that twice over the previous two nights her vehicle was burglarized while parked in the 900 block of Johnson Avenue.  According to the report, the complainant stated that over the night of November 21 an unidentified actor(s) entered into her unlocked vehicle and removed a Sony brand digital camera and two mobile telephone chargers, and that over the night of November 22, 2010 an unidentified actor(s) entered into her unlocked vehicle and removed a makeup bag and her wallet, which contained her driver's license.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that an employee of a business located in the 2600 block of Brentwood Drive had stolen money from the business.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the business' accountant discovered that the suspect, who had worked for the business for approximately six years, had for several years stolen money from the business.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.
