Two killed, one injured in Nacogdoches County head-on collision

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) –Two were killed and one was injured Thursday, in a head on collision in Nacogdoches County, roughly two miles east of the Swift community.

According to the Department of Public Safety report, Johnny Ikner IV, 27, of Nacogdoches, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on State Highway 7, point four miles east of county road 341, at 1:45 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck a 2001 Ford Explorer head on. The Explorer was driven by Guadalupe Martinez, 30, of Center.

Both Ikner and Martinez were pronounced dead at the scene at 2:08 a.m.

A passenger in the Explorer, Eva Maria Flores- Garcia, 24, of Center was taken to Nacogdoches County Memorial Center with internal injuries. She is listed in stable condition.

Ikner and Garcia were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision, but Martinez was not, according to the report.

Next of kin has been notified. The report was taken by Nacogdoches County trooper Keith Jones.
