Lufkin boy shipping 2,657 pairs of socks to soldiers

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin boy has worked hard for two months to collect socks for soldiers overseas. He began shipping them on Friday.

So far, Tanner Adams, 8, has collected 2,657 pairs. His goal is a million.

"I think it's important because they're sitting over there, risking their lives and we're over here just doing our freedom stuff," Adams said.

Adams is sending his first shipment on Dec. 4, with the help of the American Legion Auxiliary.

If you'd like to donate un-used socks to soldiers, drop them off at Brandon Elementary, Dunbar Primary, or Texas State Bank in Lufkin and Huntington.
