Observant citizen helps Lufkin Police track down burglary suspects

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - An observant citizen's tip helped Lufkin Police arrest two men suspected of burglarizing cars on Castlewood Drive.

According to the police report, the citizen called in the tip just before 1 a.m. Monday, saying the suspects were walking around vehicles and between houses in the 100 block of Castlewood Drive.

Officers arrived on the scene, and the suspect fled on foot, according to the report, but could not outrun the officers.

The officers found that the suspects, Michael Range, 21, and Decorin Robins, 19, both of Lufkin, to have things stolen from the vehicles, the report states. The officers also found a rifle in some bushes that had been stolen from one of the vehicles.

Both suspects are charged with misdemeanor offenses of burglary of a vehicle and evading arrest.
