LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – This Black Friday turned out to be a record-breaking day for one Lufkin store.
It was calmer Monday morning, but early Friday, more than a thousand guests lined up to take advantage of the sales at the Lufkin target.
This Black Friday was their biggest sales day in the 16-year history of the store. The top selling items were electronics and toys.
"We really appreciate the support and again, they did not disappoint," said Lufkin Target Store Team Leader Kris Hoepfner. "They really did shop locally and that really helps area retailers, such as Target to be able to maintain a full assortment of merchandise and a full assortment of services."
Hoepfner said they were cautiously optimistic going into the busy day, but business also exceed their expectations on Saturday and Sunday.
Target said fourth quarter sales makes up a third of their entire year in sales.
