TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A liquor store which drew fire for its location across from a church in a Trinity County community has the green light to sell alcohol.

County Judge Mark Evans confirmed Tuesday that he approved a beer permit for the store.

Some members of the Nogalus Prairie community opposed the liquor store because of its proximity to Calvary Baptist Church.

The store's owner had already obtained a package store license to sell liquor.
