Lufkin hospital employees helping raise Toys for Tots

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, Texas (Press release) – Woodland Heights Medical Center and local physicians are teaming up with the Marine Corps Reserves in the Toys for Tots program.

This is just one more way our medical community is helping out the residents of Lufkin and Angelina County.  At the Annual Physician Holiday Party hosted by Woodland Heights, physicians were asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the program.

Woodland Heights is glad to help organize this effort for the local children.  "The holidays can be hard financially, especially for those with children and we are honored to help in this small way," stated Casey Robertson, Woodland Heights CEO.  "We have a generous medical community, and once again their kindness shines through."

In addition, employees of Woodland Heights have also been given the opportunity to help make Christmas brighter for some kids, as they have been making weekly donations to the Marine Reserves since early November.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
