BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) - NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A Greenville man was arrested several hours after a convenience store robbery, thanks to some alert work from a Nacogdoches Police officer.
According to the police report, a man entered a convenience store on the 3300 block of Center Highway and displayed an electronic device, believed to be a stun gun.
The suspect, later identified as Jamarcus Flowers, 29, demanded cash and escaped with an undetermined amount.
Several hours later, Lt. Darrel Trawick, a Nacogdoches Police officer on routine patrol saw a vehicle which matched the description of the vehicle used in the robbery. He stopped the at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Shawnee Streets and saw that Flowers, who was a passenger, matched the description of the robbery suspect.
Trawick learned Flowers had felony warrants from Hunt County for failure to appear and arrested him.
Police formally charged Flowers with robbery Friday morning.
"Even though this offense was several hours old, the officer was still alert and observant and was able to recognize the suspect vehicle," police spokesman Sgt. Greg Sowell said. "This is an excellent example of our law enforcement efforts."
