LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin man originally charged in August with driving drunk with a child passenger pleaded guilty to a lesser charge Tuesday.
Efrain Santana, 36, pleaded guilty to endangerment of a child. He accepted a probated sentence of three years. He also agreed to pay a $500 fine, as well as $100 to the Angelina Alliance for Children.
According to a previous report, a Lufkin Police officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Denman Avenue and Esther Street. Santana was with a six-year-old child and the officer suspected he was driving drunk.
Prosecuting attorney Julie Alston was not immediately available to comment on the reduced charge.
