12/08/2010 - Lufkin Police Report

12-08-2010     Burglary/Building   1000 Block South First Street

At approximately 3:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 08, 2010, Lufkin Police Department officers responded to an active burglar alarm at a business located in the 1000 block of South First Street in Lufkin. According to the report, the officers found that an unidentified actor(s) forced entry into the building through the building's roof and removed from within the building a forty-inch Visio brand flat-screen television.  The report stated that the responding officers collected evidence from the scene and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

12-07-2010     Arrest   1000 Block Turner Street

At approximately 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 07, 2010, Lufkin Police Department officers arrested Marqueiz Jermaine Jackson (Black / Male / 18 / 801 Willow Bend Drive in Lufkin), in the 1000 block of Turner Street in Lufkin for the Class A Misdemeanor offenses of Evading Arrest or Detention and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.  According to the report, Lufkin Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Idlywood in Lufkin in reference to a report of gunshots.  The officers located a person matching the caller-provided description of the suspect but the suspect, later identified Marqueiz Jermaine Jackson, fled on-foot from the uniformed officers.  The officers pursued Mr. Jackson for approximately four blocks through yard and over fences before apprehending him in the 1000 block of Turner Street.  Once Mr. Jackson was in custody, officers retraced his path and recovered a Ruger brand P90 .45 caliber handgun discarded by Mr. Jackson.  Marqueiz Jermaine Jackson (Black / Male / 18 / 801 Willow Bend Drive in Lufkin) was booked into Angelina County Jail for the offenses of Evading Arrest or Detention and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.

12-07-2010     Theft/Felony  800 Block Markus Street

On Tuesday, December 07, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 10:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. that date a known suspect stole property the complainant's residence, located in the 800 block of Markus Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that he believes that his sister stole an AK-47 rifle from his closet as she packed her belongings to move out of state.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

12-07-2010     Robbery/Aggravated   600 Block North Raguet Street

At approximately 7:20 P.M. on Tuesday, December 07, 2010, Lufkin Police Department officers arrested an unidentified black, male, in the 600 block of North Raguet Street in Lufkin for the offenses of Aggravated Robbery, a First Degree Felony, and Resisting Arrest or Transport with a Deadly Weapon, a Third Degree Felony.  According to the report, Lufkin Police Department officers were dispatched to a business located at 620 North Raguet Street in Lufkin in reference to a report of a disturbance involving a man with a knife.  An employee of the business stated that the suspect became angry when informed that the lottery tickets he presented were not winning tickets.  The employee stated that the suspect exited the business without making payment for two canned soft drinks and then displayed a knife and threatened to kill the employee.  Upon arrival, the officers found the suspect standing outside of the business and saw that the suspect had in his hand a knife.  The suspect refused to comply with the uniformed officers' numerous requests and commands to drop the knife, so the officers used a TASER Device to control the violent suspect without causing serious injury.  The suspect refused to provide the officers his identifying information so his fingerprints will be entered into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).  The suspect was booked into Angelina County Jail for the offenses of Aggravated Robbery and Resisting Arrest or Transport with a Deadly Weapon; a charge of Failure to Identify will be filled upon completion of the AFIS search, or when the suspect is otherwise identified.

12-07-2010     Theft               3000 Block South John Redditt Drive

At approximately 2:50 P.M. on Tuesday, December 07, 2010, a Lufkin Police Department officer arrested 

Tony Anthony Robertson (Black / Male / 38 / 118 Daniels Street in Lufkin) at Kmart, located at 3061 North John Redditt Drive in Lufkin, for the offense of Theft, a State Jail Felony.  According to the report, a Kmart Loss Prevention employee witnessed Tony Anthony Robertson conceal several bras within his clothing and then exit the business without making payment.  The employee detained Mr. Robertson and recovered two bras from within his clothing.  Because Tony Anthony Robertson had previously been convicted three times of the offense of theft, he was booked into Angelina County Jail for the offense of Theft, a State Jail Felony.  The report stated that during the booking process the officer recovered two additional bras from within Mr. Robertson's clothing.

12-07-2010     Burglary/Habitation   1600 Block Slack Street

On Tuesday, December 07, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 9:30 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's residence, located in the 1600 block of Slack Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the residence by damaging a window of the residence but, at the time of the report, the complainant had not determined what, if any, property was removed from within the residence.  The report stated that the complainant's adult daughter was sleeping within the residence at the time of the burglary but did not know that the burglary had occurred.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

12-07-2010     Theft/B           500 Block South Timberland Drive

At approximately 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 07, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that earlier that date an unidentified female suspect stole merchandise from a business located in the 500 block of South Timberland Drive in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the suspect entered the business carrying what appeared to be a large, empty grey bag and exited the business with the bag full of merchandise.  The report stated that the complainant provided a description of the suspect and the suspect's vehicle, including the vehicle's license plate, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

12-07-2010     Burglary/Habitation   200 Block Platt Road

At approximately 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 07, 2010, a witness reported to Lufkin Police Department that they were pursuing two unidentified suspects that the witness believed had burglarized a residence located in the 200 block of Platt Road in Lufkin.  According to the report, the witness stated that they saw two black, male suspects loading property into a vehicle parked in front of the residence, and that the suspects fled in the vehicle when they saw the witness.  The report stated that the witness obtained a description of the suspects and the suspects' vehicle, including the vehicle's license plate, but lost sight of the suspects at the intersection of South Medford Drive and East Denman Avenue.  The responding Lufkin Police Department officers determined that the suspects had forced entry into the residence by damaging glass entry door located at the rear of the residence and the owner of the property determined that electronics, jewelry, and credit cards were removed from within the residence.  The report stated that the suspects' vehicle was a tan-in-color 1991 Mercury displaying Texas license plate 697RVR, that a Lufkin Police Department Crime Scene Technician collected evidence from the scene, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.
