LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – He got away with his life, but his cousin wasn't as lucky. A Trinity man has been indicted for a copper theft, the same crime that killed his cousin.

In April, Billy Estell, Jr. told authorities that his cousin was electrocuted while they were rabbit hunting near an oil well on Houston County Road 3575.

The sheriff's department said it was obvious that wasn't how it happened.

Ronnie Sigford, Jr. died at the scene, and Estell was arrested for copper theft.
