LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Lufkin Police are investigating an armed robbery Wednesday night at a convenience store on Atkinson Drive.
According to the police report, officers responded to the robbery at Polk's Pick-It-Up, located on the 3100 block of Atkinson Drive. An employee of the store told police that a man walked into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded the money in the cash register.
The employee said the suspect placed the gun against his back and the employee gave him the money. The suspect then ran out of the store.
The employee described the suspect as a black male, about 19 years old, average build, about 5'8" tall and wearing a black hooded jacket, dark blue or black jeans and he covered his face with a blue bandana.
Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
