GARRISON, TX (KTRE) – The Garrison Bulldogs football team is nestled in the tradition rich football town of Garrison in Nacogdoches County.
Coming off a huge win against the Big Sandy Wildcats, 42 – 7, there's just one win standing between them and a chance to play for the state championship.
Garrison travels to Ennis Saturday to take on the Goldthwaite Eagles. They're hoping to advance on their 13-0 season record. Armed with a hungry Bulldog team and fans who "believe," Coach Craten Phillips and his staff are ready to tackle a new opponent. They play Saturday at 6pm in Ennis against Goldthwaite. Garrison won its first ever state championship in 2003 when they shutout the Bangs Dragons, 27 - 0. If they beat Goldthwaite, they'll play for the state championship the following Saturday at noon at Vernon Newsom Stadium against the winner of Mart or Canadian.
