NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Timpson man was arrested on a warrant Wednesday after the Nacogdoches County sheriff said he was one of the suspects who stole wiring from an electric substation in November.

Matthew Louis Pate, 29, is charged with theft of copper, a state jail felony.

According to Sheriff Thomas Kerss, Pate and others stole the wiring during the night of Nov. 19 at a Deep East Texas Electric substation, located on County Road 106.

"They entered a secured perimeter and stole copper wiring from the location," Kerss said.

Kerss estimated they stole about 1,200 feet of wiring. He said his office has identified other suspects in the case and is continuing to investigate it.
