Lufkin Police arrest 3 in car/gun fight

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Lufkin Police arrested a Lufkin man, his girlfriend and her brother Monday night after a physical altercation broke out between the two men.

Lyle Anthony Slaughter, 20, of Nacogdoches, is charged with aggravated assault; Bradly Damond Maxie, 21, of Lufkin, is charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon; and Carly Renee Slaughter, 18, of Nacogdoches, is charged with public intoxication.

According to the police report, officers responded to a report of a gunshot in the 400 block of East Laurel Avenue. When they arrived, they learned Lyle Slaughter drove a vehicle into Maxie and that Maxie responded by firing a handgun at the vehicle.

The report does not list any injury for Maxie, but that he did jump into a ditch to avoid the vehicle.
