ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin woman was arrested Tuesday in connection to separate criminal acts at Angelina County residences.
Sarah Ann Hunziker, 20, is charged with burglary of a habitation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Hunziker met with Angelina County Sheriff's deputies at her home and admitted to taking a Pug utility vehicle from a home on the 13000 block of FM 1818. Deputies contacted the owner of the UTV, who met them at the residence, and confirmed the UTV was his. He then asked Hunziker about a machete, limb loppers and a bowie knife, which were also missing. The affidavit states Hunziker retrieved everything except the knife from behind her house. She claimed to have no knowledge of the knife.
Hunziker told a friend she felt guilty about taking the UTV on Nov. 23, and the friend contacted law enforcement to help her return it, according to the affidavit.
A second affidavit details how a game warden conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in which Hunziker was a passenger. The game warden saw items in the vehicle, including a blue throw, a carpet cleaner and a wood cooler, which matched property reported stolen from a residence on Boots Harvard Road.
The investigator of the burglary served warrants on the married couple, who said Hunziker stole the property, which was valued at $3,115.
