NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Nobody was injured in a plane crash near the airport in Nacogdoches County.

According to Nacogdoches County Sheriff Thomas Kerss, the pilot was the lone person in the plane when it went down around 7:30 p.m. He was said to be pretty shaken up, but not seriously hurt.

Kerss said the pilot took off in La Porte and was heading to Longview when he experienced an engine stall near Nacogdoches. Trying to make an emergency landing, he clipped a power line connected to a home and crashed short of the runway. No one in the home was injured.

Investigators say the plane is a total loss. Officers with the Sheriff's Office and DPS are investigating the scene on State Highway 225 and County Road 711. Federal Aviation officials are expected on-scene tomorrow.
