LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin resident was responsible for getting another Lufkin man behind bars Wednesday afternoon, just not for the crime he was hoping to solve.
Winston Lee Porter, 56, is charged with possession of a controlled substance. He also is charged with an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor theft.
According to the Lufkin Police report, a citizen told police around 3 p.m. that Porter was a suspect in the recent burglary of his home and was traveling along Keltys Street.
The officer identified Porter as a passenger in the vehicle and took him into custody for the outstanding warrant. He also found him to be in possession of crack cocaine and three crack pipes, according to the report.
The burglary the citizen had referenced is still under investigation.
