12/16/10 Lufkin Police report

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Burglary/Vehicle                             100 Block Miles Way

On Wednesday, December 15, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 8:45 P.M. and 10:00 P.M. that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot for Buffalo Wild Wings, located in the 100 block of Miles Way in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the vehicle by damaging one of the vehicle's windows and removed from within the vehicle a laptop computer.  The report stated that the complainant initially reported that the actor(s) did not steal a purse and other belongings left within the vehicle but later that date the complainant notified Lufkin Police Department that a camera was missing from within the vehicle's center console.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Criminal Mischief                                            200 Block Whitehouse Drive

At approximately 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 9:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M. the previous date an unidentified actor(s) used a BB gun to break a window of the complainant's residence located in the 200 block of Whitehouse Drive in Lufkin.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Theft                                                                     400 Block Martin Luther King Boulevard

On Wednesday, December 15, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that an unidentified actor(s) stole property from a vacant rental residence located in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that after a renter moved out of the residence the complainant discovered that a stove, refrigerator, and two window-mounted air conditioning units were stolen from within the residence and fourteen residential windows were stolen from outside of the residence.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

Arrest                                                                   1500 Block Keltys Street

At approximately 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, a Lufkin Police Department officer arrested Winston Lee Porter (Black / Male / 56 / Lufkin) in the 1500 block of Keltys Street in Lufkin, for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine, a State Jail Felony, and for an outstanding Lufkin Police Department arrest warrant for the offense of Theft, a Class B Misdemeanor.  According to the report, a citizen notified Lufkin Police Department that Winston Porter was a suspect in the recent burglary of the citizen's residence and that Mr. Porter was traveling in a vehicle along Keltys Street.  The responding Lufkin Police Department officer identified Winston Lee Porter as a passenger in the vehicle and took him into custody for an outstanding Lufkin Police Department arrest warrant for the offense of Class B Misdemeanor Theft.  Mr. Porter was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and three pipes used to smoke crack cocaine.  Winston Lee Porter was booked into Angelina County Jail for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine and for the outstanding arrest warrant.  The Theft warrant was issued following an April 2010 investigation by Lufkin Police Department into the theft of scrap iron from the 900 block of Sayers Street in Lufkin.  The referenced residential burglary is still under investigation.

Arrest                                                                   4600 Block South Medford Drive

At approximately 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, a Lufkin Police Department officer arrested Deborah McShan Burton (White / Female / 50 / Lufkin) at Lufkin Mall, located at 4600 South Medford Drive in Lufkin, for the offense of Theft, a Class B Misdemeanor, and for an outstanding Lufkin Municipal Court arrest warrant for the offense of Assault, a Class C Misdemeanor.  According to the report, Loss Prevention employee at Sears in Lufkin Mall witnessed Ms. Burton conceal Sears' merchandise, children's clothing, within her purse and then exit the store without making payment for the items.  The employee detained Ms. Burton in the Lufkin Mall parking lot and escorted her back into the Mall where they met with a Lufkin Mall Security employee, and employee of Payless Shoe Store, and an employee of Claire's Boutique.  Ms. Burton was found in possession of a belt and jewelry that she stole from Claire's Boutique, and a pair of shoes that she stole from Payless Shoe Store.  The Lufkin Mall Security employee contacted Lufkin Police Department and the responding Lufkin Police Department officer arrested Ms. Burton and booked her into Angelina County Jail for the offense of Theft and for an outstanding Class C Misdemeanor Assault warrant.

Arrest                                                                   1000 Block Glenn Avenue

At approximately 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, a Lufkin Police Department officer arrested Theodis Paxton Jr. (Black / Male / 48 / Crockett) in the 1000 block of Glenn Avenue in Lufkin, for an outstanding Angelina County Capias Pro Fine warrant for the offense of Criminal Nonsupport.  According to the report, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that a suspicious person was walking along Glenn Avenue; the complainant provided a description of the suspect and stated that the suspect was unknown to the residents living in the area.  The responding Lufkin Police Department officers made contact with the complainant and the complainant pointed out the suspect.  Upon identifying the suspect as Theodis Paxton Jr., the officers learned that he was wanted in Angelina County on a $2,000 Capias Pro Fine warrant for the offense of Criminal Nonsupport.  Mr. Paxton was booked into Angelina County Jail for the outstanding warrant.  Mr. Paxton stated that he was in the area looking for a friend with whom he was to work that date.

Burglary                                                               2600 Block South First Street

On Wednesday, December 15, 2010, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 7:00 P.M. on December 14, 2010 and 5:00 A.M. on December 15, 2010 an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot for Silver Creek apartment complex, located in the 2600 block of South First Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that several weeks prior to the burglary the vehicle's door locks stopped functioning property so the actor(s) did not have to force entry into the vehicle; the actor(s) removed from dashboard of the vehicle the complainant's wallet, which contained her driver's license and debit card.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.
