LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – They're only in Pre-K, but they've collected more than 120 supply bags to send to troops overseas.

Students at Tulane Kid's Academy Thursday morning gave Lufkin's American Legion Auxiliary supplies to ship to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

From cotton swabs and razors to crackers and envelopes, the students filled their "Santa Bags."

Through the project, the school director wanted to bring the spirit of the season alive for her students.

"They can't do anything with stuff because they just have to spend their whole lives having to fight the bad things," said student Alexis Grigsby.

Lana Vinson, a student at Tulane Kid's Academy said they collected the bags because the troops are, "Saving us and fighting."

"We love you," said young Lucas Robertson.

"It's just unbelievable, you know it's really great to see the kids that age are willing to learn and are willing to help," said Rita Redd with the American Legion Auxiliary's Because We Care Program.

The troops call the boxes Love from Lufkin and should receive the boxes around the first of the year.
