LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - About a year after announcing a closure, the Waldenbooks has again announced its Lufkin location will be closing.
A company e-mail announced the closure on Tuesday as part of a clearance sale.
"It's been our pleasure to serve you and to be part of the community, but we're sad to say we must close our store at the location," the e-mail stated. "Don't miss out on clearance savings."
A 2009 KTRE report stated the store in Lufkin Mall would close, but company officials later backed off that announcement.
An employee with the Lufkin Waldenbooks said the store's last day in business would be in January, though an exact date was not known.
