LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – Fireworks retailers just opened Monday for New Years sales, and already one place has been robbed.

Employee volunteers at the Fireworks Superstore on South First came in Tuesday morning, and realized they had been burglarized.

According to the Lufkin Police report, a back overhead door was unlocked after their first day of sales.

Someone was able to come in, steal about $1,500 worth of fireworks and $700 in cash.
