Woodville man killed in two-vehicle wreck, Grand Saline man injured

JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – A Woodville man was killed and a Grand Saline man was injured in a two-vehicle collision early Sunday morning, in Jasper County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety accident report, the wreck happened on State Highway 63, 115 ft west of FM 277 at 5:54 a.m.

A 1998 Isuzu Hombre driven by David Allen White, 25, of Woodville was headed westbound on State Highway 63. A 2000 Ford Mustang driven by Jason Paul Maciel, 27, of Grand Saline, was eastbound, also on State Highway 63.

The report stated White crossed the center stripe, striking Maciel's vehicle.

White was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:10 a.m.

Maciel was taken to a Beaumont hospital and is said to be in stable condition, with some broken bones.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The accident is being investigated by Jasper Trooper Lester McCray.
