DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) – A man who was kicked off a Kirbyville bus for misbehaving has been arrested for attacking two Diboll police officers who were trying to arrest him for allegedly stealing a beer.

Police say Brandon Rogers, 29 of Austin, was arrested Wednesday and charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and theft.

It all began after a Kirbyville bus driver asked Rogers to leave his bus after "being loud and acting obnoxiously," according to Diboll Police Detective Brandon Lovell.

When Rogers left the bus, he went inside the Diboll Polk Pick-it-up where a clerk said she saw him take a beer out of the cooler and into the bathroom.  The clerk called police.

When officers arrived at the store, they put Rogers in handcuffs.  Officers said Rogers became combative when they tried to put him in the back of the police car.  They had to physically make him get in the car, and that's when Rogers allegedly kicked Officer Michael Teer in the mouth.  Then, he allegedly spit on Officer Ray Anthony.

Rogers is in the Angelina County Jail with no bond for the assault charge and bonds totaling $2,000 for the resisting arrest and theft charges.
