Nacogdoches and Lufkin Christmas tree recycling

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) – Anyone still with a real Christmas tree should make plans right away to remove it from the home.

In Nacogdoches, residents are asked to set the undecorated tree by the curb.  The limb truck will pick it up and haul it to the Biomass Center.

The facility is open to the public.  It's free of charge and requires no special identification.  You can find it on the west loop, right before the Highway 21 exit.  Firefighters say it's way too dangerous to leave a drive Christmas tree inside a house.

If you live in Lufkin, all you have to do is place your Christmas tree curbside after the holidays and the Lufkin Recycling Center will pick it up in front of your house.

If you do not live within the Lufkin city limits, take your tree to the Regional Recycling Center on Southpark Drive, off FM 819.

Also, with your help Angelina Beautiful Clean hopes to recycle hundreds of Christmas cards, many of which they plan to send to troops overseas.  All you have to do is drop off any of your Christmas cards at the Commercial Bank on First Street, any Angelina County Brookshire Bros. grocery store, or at the Chamber of Commerce.  AB/C will be taking cards until January 14, 2011.
