LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – A missing East Texas man with an intellectual disability and violent tendencies has been found in Houston.  He's now resting at home with family.

Law enforcement and family members were searching for 27-year-old Jose Ramirez who had been missing since Wednesday, December 29th. He was found Saturday night and taken to St. Luke's hospital in Houston.  He was treated and released.

According to one of Ramirez's cousins, he did not eat or sleep the entire time he was missing, but only walked around.

Family members tell us he went missing during a dentist appointment at Methodist Hospital in the Houston Medical Center.

According to the Missing Person's Department in Houston, Ramirez was with a Burke Center care taker at the time of his disappearance.

Family tells KTRE he was apparently left alone in the bathroom -- Ramirez never came back.

Ramirez lives in a Lufkin home provided by the Burke Center.

"Is he okay, and what's his condition? When he left he only had on a shirt and a pair of shorts on," said his brother, Javier Ramirez.

The Burke Center would not comment on the disappearance, citing federal health privacy laws..
