TYLER Co. (KTRE) - It has been a deadly 24 hours in Tyler County. On the heels of a reported accidental shooting, Tyler County deputies are investigating a murder off State Highway 92 near Dam B.
According to a news release, the Tyler County Sheriff's office dispatch received an emergency 9-1-1 call around 10:45 Wednesday night about a home intrusion and shots fired. Upon further investigation, deputies found the incident appeared to have stemmed from an altercation between the victim and the homeowners.
The victim, Donald Eugene Graham, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jim Moore. He died from an apparent gunshot wound.
This case is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing, pending the results of an autopsy and analysis of other evidence recovered from the residence of Michael and Sherry Holcomb.
The shooting occurred on CR 4400 (off Hwy 92, near Dam B) in the Mt. Neches area. That's east of Woodville, near the Jasper County line. No arrests have been made pending further investigation.
