LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – A Nacogdoches woman calls police after allegedly escaping a moving vehicle.

According to Sergeant Chasen Partin with Nacogdoches PD, the incident happened around 6 AM Saturday on the 1700 block of Chandler Street.  A known suspect forcibly put a woman in his car.

Partin says there was some sort of relationship between the two, but the alleged victim did not want to go with him.

After going about a block, the woman was able to escape from the passenger side as the driver slowed down to make a turn.

"At which time he tried to prevent her and that's when the assault took place. She was able to ward of his advance and flee the area," said Partin.

Police say the woman did have some visible injuries, but refused medical treatment.

The case will be turned over to detectives, and an arrest warrant will be issued for kidnapping and assault.
