KTRE coming to DISH on Jan. 26

FROM THE EAST TEXAS NEWSROOM (KTRE) - KTRE's long-anticipated move to satellite is just a couple weeks away, with a target date set for Wednesday, January 26. 2011.

According to General Manager Pierre Cromartie, DISH Network officials have agreed to make KTRE available on that date. DISH representatives will begin confirming the addition on Wednesday, January 12, 2011.

Cromartie first announced the agreement with DISH in June. However, issues with KTRE's delivery of a signal to DISH delayed the progress.

"We apologize to our viewers for the delay, but our engineers have worked hard since then on getting a signal to DISH and we're excited the time has finally come," Cromartie said.

KTRE will be available to all counties in the Tyler-Longview Television Market, which include Angelina, Nacogdoches, Cherokee, Rusk, Houston, San Augustine and Sabine counties. The neighboring counties, Polk, Trinity and Shelby, are not part of KTRE's television market, but Polk and Trinity should make the list because they are considered "significantly viewed" counties.  Shelby County is under consideration.
