Teachers deliver pizza to their students

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – Imagine ordering a pizza and opening the door to find not the delivery guy, but your teacher?

That was the case Tuesday night as 25 teachers from Trout Primary partnered with Papa John's Pizza to fundraise for the school.

Teachers delivered more than 90 pizzas to guess who… their students!

"You get to drive your cars and then you get to interact with the teachers and the students have the benefit of their teachers delivering pizza to them and that's pretty awesome," said Tiffany Truscott, President of Trout Primary Parent Teacher Kids.

Teachers delivered from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Twenty percent of the proceeds go to the school, and teachers keep their tips.

Organizers hope to raise two-thousand dollars. The money will help with future school events.
