CENTER, TX (KTRE) -

CENTER, Texas (KTRE) - Center Police Detective Joey Haley turned himself in to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office on a charge of perjury.

A grand jury indicted Haley, 36, of Joaquin, on the charge on Monday.

Justice of the Peace, Pct. 4 Larry Jones arraigned Haley and he was released on a $5,000 bond.

According to a July KTRE report, Haley was being investigated for his testimony at that month's grand jury hearing. Haley testified on his investigation of a fight between two Shelby County deputies, which led to an indictment of Desmond McDaniel, for assault of a peace officer.
